Over the last decade we have worked closely with many of the worlds best known executive assessment firms and the organisations that have engaged their services.

During this time we regularly witnessed executive assessment practices where:

  • selection criteria were poorly specified, outdated or largely irrelevant
  • assessment activities produced inaccurate, unreliable or invalid results
  • assessment processes were resource intensive, time consuming and expensive

Many leaders who undertook such processes described the experience as upsetting and demoralising. And the strategic level decision makers engaging such firms were often left with more questions than answers.

In 2008 we were determined to develop a leadership assessment solution that was:

  • informed by both contemporary research and practical experience
  • evidence-based, accurate and reliable
  • valued by both participants and strategic level decision makers
  • efficient and cost effective

Emerging research from the field of personality neuroscience has revolutionised our understanding of motivation, emotions and leader behaviour. We established Hipotential in 2012 to merge our decade of leadership assessment and development experience with our research program in this new field.

This has resulted in a leadership assessment process that integrates contemporary evidence-based research with a pragmatic and targeted approach to predicting executive success under ambiguous, challenging and complex conditions.
